18.02.2022

Altstätten, Switzerland, February 16, 2022: Zünd received awards from the European Digital Press Association (EDP) for three of its developed software solutions. The jury announced PrimeCenter as the “Best Workflow Solution,” while the “Pick & Place” interface and the Visualization Option were recognized as “Best Achievement in Robotics” and “Best Print Processing Tool,” respectively.

Zünd is globally renowned for its modern, high-performance digital cutting systems “Made in Switzerland.” For some time, the Swiss manufacturer has been known for user-friendly automation software for prepress preparation such as PrimeCenter, as well as the Visualization Option and the “Pick & Place” interface option for digital printing production. The latter two are highly efficient solutions for collecting parts already cut by the machine, offering support through visualization and integrated robotics, respectively. Thanks to its exceptional know-how and consulting experience, Zünd has become a provider of complete workflow solutions in cutting/finishing and automation. The market leader in digital cutting systems offers customers customized workflow solutions for every step of digital printing production. In recognition of the many advantages and outstanding price-performance ratio of these software solutions, a jury of experts from the European Digital Press Association awarded them the “Best in Class” distinction.

  •  The automation software PrimeCenter serves as a control center for creating print and cut files, ensuring a highly efficient and productive prepress workflow. With just a few clicks, users can generate fully nested print and cut jobs.
  • The Pick & Place interface option allows the Zünd Cut Center (ZCC) to control a robotic device that fully automates the distribution of finished cut parts collecting, sorting, and placing them in predefined locations.
  • The Visualization option provides visual support for removing cut parts. Labels are applied to the parts using a projector or monitor. Users can see at a glance which parts belong to which order and can apply labels for continuous tracking.
  • For more than ten years, the European Digital Press Association has been evaluating products and developments in the graphic arts industry for awards and recognition. This process involves a technical committee of the association, a jury of experts, and finally, a general assembly of EDP members.
